Jess was chosen for the City Artist Corps with new play "The Garden"

I’m thrilled and honored to announce that I and my new project, The Garden, have been selected for a City Artist Corps Grant!

City Artist Corps is a program supporting NYC-based working artists who have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. The program is presented by New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) in partnership with the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA), with support from the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) as well as Queens Theatre. I will be creating and producing The Garden, a new meditative performance for babies and their adults exploring themes of nature and life cycles. Poetic text in multiple languages blends with interactive nature toys, seated on the grass and lovingly encircled by a panoramic painting under the open sky. “The Garden” will be staged in 5 public parks across NYC this October, free to the public.
